Une nouvelle étude répertorie les pratiques de chasse traditionnelle dans les plateaux Batéké. Examiné dans un contexte à la fois culturelle et de conservation, cet article fournit des renseignements sociaux précieux sur les pratiques de chasse dans ce paysage unique, le rôle du feu et l’intérêt d’intégrer en même temps les perspectives anthropologiques et de conservation en examinant les problèmes de la chasse. Des décomptes historiques, des entretiens et l’ethnographie sont utilisées pour décrire la maîtrise du feu dans la chasse du menacé céphalophe de Grimm, et examine simultanément les aspects culturels et le contexte plus large de la conservation autour de ce sujet.

A new study documents traditional hunting practices in the Bateke Plateau. Examined within a both a cultural and conservation framework, this paper offers a valuable social record of hunting practices in this unique landscape, the role of fire and the value of integrating both anthropological and conservation perspectives when examining hunting issues. Historical accounts, interviews and ethnography are used to describe the fire drive for hunting the endangered Grimm's duiker, and examine both the cultural aspects and the broader conservation context surrounding this.
